What is a Youth Voting Ambassador?
Would you like to help the League of Women Voters (LWV) get more of your friends involved in the next election? Become a Youth Voting Ambassador! As a Youth Voting Ambassador, you will be provided a toolkit for regular postings on your social media platform(s) to instruct and encourage your 18-year-old friends living anywhere in the United States to register to vote and then to get out and vote in the next election.
You can do everything from the comfort of home via your cell phone. Easy and impactful, this volunteer opportunity looks great on resumes – voting is your superpower!
What does it take to become a Youth Voting Ambassador?
- Commitment to the idea that every vote counts
- Access to social media platforms
- Willingness to encourage voter registration and voting at least once a week until election day (join anytime!)
- Non-partisanship while acting in your capacity as Youth Voting Ambassador (i.e. cannot endorse a specific candidate on Youth Ambassador posts)
How do I sign up, and where do I begin?
- Go to the League of Women Voters of Seattle-King County's Facebook page to access/join the Ambassador group
- Watch our intro/training video, and email voterservices@lwvskc.org for more information/questions
- Make sure you are registered to vote!
- Download/save/screenshot the content to be posted leading up to the election & save our linktree
