|  | Primary Recap: Results, Ballots, and What Our Observers Saw
The King County August 2026 primary election results were posted last Tuesday, August 18th, with 37% of voters participating, that's 534,500 voters out of 1,454,559 voters. You can find detailed results here. LWVSKC had a record number of observers (24) for this primary, and you can read their observations here.
King County Election Director Wraps Up the August Primary
King County Elections has certified the August 2026 Primary, its 42nd straight fully reconciled election. Turnout came in at just over 37%, approximately 540,000 ballots returned, under the county's 45% projection. Director Julie Wise breaks down what worked, what came up short, and what's already underway: a recall charge against Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, two tied Precinct Committee Officer races headed to a coin flip, and the county's plan to hit 75% turnout in November.
